Malaysia Airlines defers sukuk payment
Pandemic-hit Malaysia Airlines Berhad has deferred an upcoming sukuk payment.
The payment scheduled for September 30 will be postponed by six months to March 31, 2021, said CIMB Investment Bank in a filing on Bank Negara Malaysia’s Fully Automated System for Issuing/Tendering (FAST).
The 1.5 billion nominal value perpetual sukuk musharakah was issued in 2016.
CIMB said MAB issued notice of the postponement of payment to sukuk holders on September 17.
