Malaysia Building Society Berhad Group CEO dies from COVID-19 complications
The President and CEO of Malaysia Building Society Berhad Group of companies, Ahmad Zaini Othman, has died from COVID-19 complications.
MBSB said on Sunday (Aug 15) he passed away at a local hospital at 1.46 in the morning.
Ahmad Zaini Othman led the transformation of MBSB as a non-bank financial institution to merge with the Asian Finance Bank, that made it possible for MBSB to fully own MBSB Bank Berhad in 2018.
MBSB Bank Berhad is Malaysia's second standalone full-fledged Islamic bank.
Nor Azam M Taib, the Deputy CEO, will be the acting President and CEO of MBSB Group in the interm.
