Malaysia central bank seeks feedback on climate change and principle-based taxonomy discussion paper

Malaysia’s central bank is seeking written feedback on a discussion paper on climate change and principle-based taxonomy.

Bank Negara Malaysia said on Friday (Dec 27) the paper aims to provide an overview of climate change and its impact to the financial system.

“It serves as a guidance to facilitate financial institutions in identifying and classifying economic activities that could contribute to climate change objectives,” said the central bank.

All written feedback and suggestions must be in by March 31, 2020. The discussion paper can be found in this link.
