Moscow international fashion trade show debuts modest fashion segment

Collection Premiere Moscow, a trade show for the international fashion industry, is for the first time in its 32 seasons including a modest fashion component.

CPM’s modest fashion segment is organised in partnership with Modest Russia, the first consultants and platform in the country that brings together the modest fashion industry.

Modest Russia co-founder Dilyara Sadrieva said in a statement that this is a “great opportunity” for manufacturers and designers who wish to tap the market.

“The brands that are taking part in the pilot project now can safely enter their names in the history of modest fashion,” said Sadrieva.

She is also regional director of the Council of Modest Fashion, which was launched in July 2018 during Jakarta Modest Fashion Week. The Council consists of modest fashion stakeholders from around the world who work to promote the industry.

CPM is held twice a year and for its current February outing, it counts around 40 catwalk shows, and 1,418 collections from 35 countries, attracting some 21,500 trade visitors.

Other than showing modest fashion collections, CPM will also host a panel discussion that will include local modest fashion designers Svetlana Levadnaya and Rusudan Kobyakova, as well as Maria Smorchkova, director of the Association of Fashion Industry Enterprises (APPRIM), and Irina Ashkinadze, General Producer of the famous St. Petersburg fashion festival “Defile on the Neva”.

CPM is organised by Messe Duesseldorf Moscow and co-organised by Igedo Company, which also included modest fashion for the first time during last month’s Gallery Dusseldorf, an ordering platform for the fashion industry.

The current CPM for Autumn/Winter 2019/20 collections runs from Feb 25 to 28.
