Oman’s Dhofar Fisheries & Food posts rise in quarterly earnings as expenses fall
Dhofar Fisheries and Food Industries Company posted a net profit of 234,189 Omani rials ($607,084) for the three months ending Mar 31, a rise of 125% compared to the same quarter in 2019.
Revenue dropped 11.5% to 2.76 million rials but net profit was propped up by a fall in expenses to 2.53 million rials from 3.02 million rials, the company reported in a filing with the Muscat Securities Market on Apr 16.
The Salalah-based company is in the business of fish processing and canning fishmeals and fish oils. Its brands include Melody, Al Khaleejia, Omania and Safa.
