Governments should focus on ‘high-risk travellers’ not ‘high-risk countries’: WTTC
Published 14 Feb,2021 via Daily News Egypt - The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) is calling for governments to abandon the concept of ‘high-risk countries’, and instead focus on how individual ‘high-risk travellers’ are treated at borders.
The WTTC, which represents the global travel and tourism private sector, is urging governments around the world to shift their focus from whole countries to individual travellers.
Instead, the council says governments around the world should redefine their whole approach to risk assessment, to revive international business and leisure travel. This comes particularly in light of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and the effects it has had on international travel.
