JAKARTA – Indonesian authorities have started to gradually move the country’s 95.2 trillion Indonesian rupiah ($7.14 billion) haj and sovereign wealth fund to the new independent haj fund management agency (Badan Pengelola Keuangan Haji, BPKH) that will receive the amount in full by November, director of the country’s current haj fund management agency at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ramadhan Harisman, told Salaam Gateway.
According to Harisman, the ministry is preparing a financial statement for both the haj and sovereign wealth funds.
The statement for the 3 trillion rupiah ($225 million) sovereign wealth fund will be completed in August and will then be looked over by the national audit board (Badan Pemeriksa Keuangan, BPK) in September. It will be transferred in full to BPKH by October.
