Published 22 Nov,2020 via Muscat Daily - As part of its efforts to diversify agricultural crops and increase the national income, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources has urged Omani farmers to plant lemon trees.
Speaking to Muscat Daily an official said the ministry will provide lemon seedlings free to farmers. The move is part of a project launched by the ministry to cultivate farms with various fruits such as lemons, dates and mangoes.
As per the ministry guidelines, the farmer must be an Omani and he should have a land not less than five acres and not more than ten with modern irrigation systems.
