Oman’s honey sales in 2020 yielded more than RO14mn


Published 22 May,2021 via Muscat Daily - Celebrating the World Honey Day, which falls on May 20 every year, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources (MAFWR) said that the total worth of honey sold in the sultanate during 2020 touched RO14,251,020.

According to ministry statistics, the number of beekeepers in the sultanate reached 6,231 with 137,600 honeycombs that produced 712,551kg of honey.

The ministry has been organising honey markets annually since 2014. Honey sales jumped by 15.7 per cent in 2019 over 2018.
