Singapore cancels Ramadhan Bazaar as COVID-19 fears persist – Straits Times


Singapore’s People’s Association will not be organising the annual Ramadhan Bazaar this year to keep to the need to practise social distancing in public venues as the COVID-19 persists, local daily The Straits Times reported on Wednesday (Mar 18).

The newspaper cited a PA spokesperson as saying that it will not be organising festive bazaars and trade fairs with effect Mar 18 “for the well-being and safety” of the public. This includes the annual iconic Ramadhan Bazaar at Geylang Serai, Tampines Hub and Woodlands.
