Raeed Holdings Sdn Bhd Announces New Chief Executive Officer


KUALA LUMPUR (TUESDAY, 16 October 2018) – Raeed Holdings Sdn Bhd (Raeed) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Joann Maryam Enriquez as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Raeed is a consortium of six (6) banks namely Affin Islamic Bank Berhad, Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Berhad (Bank Rakyat), Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad, Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) and Maybank Islamic Berhad.

In 2015, Raeed formed a wholly owned subsidiary, IAP Integrated Sdn Bhd to develop and operate the first and only multi-bank platform known as Investment Account Platform (IAP). The IAP serves as a centralised multi-bank platform (www.iaplatform.com) that allows investors to review and invest in a wide range of ventures. Thus far, IAP has successfully raised RM161.2 million worth of funds from ten (10) deals listed on its platform. Two (2) of its deals won awards as Best Fintech Deal 2017 and Deal of the Year 2017 Malaysia by The Asset Triple A Islamic Finance Award and Islamic Finance News (IFN) Asia respectively.

Ms. Enriquez brings with her over 20 years of experience in Financial Technology from various S&P 500 companies in the Silicon Valley in California. Her last position was as Chief Operating Officer of Ethis Ventures. She was instrumental in developing the start-ups operations until it grew to become a key player in the global Islamic Crowdfunding space having presence in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Dubai and Brunei.

As a CEO, Ms. Enriquez is tasked to develop Raeed into a full-fledged investment holding company. “We are delighted that she joins Raeed as our new CEO. Her vast experience with Financial Technologies and crowdfunding coupled with strong Islamic Finance background are essential to the consortium’s success. We look forward to her stewardship in strengthening Raeed and IAP as well as creating new business verticals. The aim is not only to create value to the shareholders but also lasting impact in the Islamic finance landscape as envisioned by Bank Negara Malaysia’s Governor Datuk Nor Shamsiah Mohd Yunus via value-based intermediation (VBI)”, said Raeed’s Chairman Datuk Zamani Abdul Ghani on her appointment.

Ms. Enriquez obtained a Double Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and International Studies from De La Salle University, Manila; MBA and DBA (candidate) from the University of Phoenix, Arizona. She also obtained a Masters in Islamic Finance Practice at The International Center for Islamic Finance (INCIEF), Malaysia.
