Twelve Malaysian small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will export 125 containers of dry and frozen food, and beverages to Saudi Arabia next year, state news agency Bernama reported on Thursday.

The export is worth around 20 million Saudi riyals ($5.3 million).

The Malaysian SMEs include Faiza, Tisha’s, Nani’s, MasterChef, Ain’s Treat, and Thalia, according to the Bernama report.

The food companies signed distributorship agreements with The Synergy International Co (TSI), a diversified group of companies in Saudi Arabia.

TSI’s retail arm runs Asiana Grocer, and the company also has a distribution network covering other retailers.

In the last year TSI imported 23 containers of Malaysian products into Saudi Arabia, said the report.
