35 hotels in 7 governorates in Egypt receive health, safety certificate to reopen: Tourism Ministry


Published 23 Jun,2020 via Daily News Egypt - A total of 35 hotels across 7 governorates have, over the past two days, received the health and safety certificate required to reopen, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said on Tuesday.

The certificates were awarded following the verification that they have followed the health guidelines outlined by the Egyptian government and the World Health Organisation (WHO).

The hotels are located in the governorates of Cairo, South Sinai, Alexandria, Ismailia, Red Sea, Luxor, and Aswan.

Abdel Fattah Al-Assi, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for monitoring tourism facilities, stated that out of the 35 hotels, eight are in Cairo, and 11 in the South Sinai. In addition, 10 hotels are in Alexandria, three are in the Red Sea governorate, one in Ismailia, one in Aswan, and one in Luxor.

Al-Assi explained that a total of 301 hotels across Egypt have been granted the certificates to reopen. He pointed out that the inspection committees continue their visits to other hotels that have submitted requests to reopen.
