873 workers in Jordan's tourism industry receive government financial support
Published 25 Mar,2021 via The Jordan Times AMMAN — The “Al Khair” account committee of the Ministry of Social Development on Wednesday issued the second batch of assistance cheques to the Ministry of Tourism to support 873 workers in the tourism industry affected by the coronavirus pandemic, offering JD300 per recipient, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Tourism Minister Nayef Fayez, in a statement, highlighted that the total number of the ministry’s beneficiaries of the Al Khair account reached 1,207, noting that the value of the cheques reached some JD362,000.
“Al Khair” bank account was opened to receive donations from the Kingdom and abroad to support underprivileged families and those whose source of income was cut amid the temporary precautionary measures taken in response to the COVID crisis.
