Abu Dhabi Investment Office planning international offices starting with Tel Aviv

Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) is planning to open international offices to support companies that want to establish and expand their operations in the UAE capital, starting with Tel Aviv, state news agency WAM reported on Wednesday (September 16).

The opening of a representative office in Tel Aviv follows the UAE’s normalisation of diplomatic and commercial cooperation with Israel in August.

ADIO said on September 1 that it had opened discussions with Invest in Israel at the Ministry of Economy and Industry, to set out a plan to establish a formal cooperation.

Director General Dr. Tariq Bin Hendi said at the time that ADIO wanted to ensure that Israeli firms can “tap into everything that Abu Dhabi has to offer” for business.

Areas identified for possible collaboration between Abu Dhabi and Israel include advanced technology and R&D across sectors such as agri-tech, biomedicine and advanced manufacturing. ADIO’s identified sub-sectors in agri-tech are indoor farming technology, precision agriculture and agri-robotics, and algae-based biofuels.

ADIO is the central government hub supporting investment in Abu Dhabi.
