Air France resumes flights to Cairo

Published 08 Jul,2020 via Daily News Egypt - Air France has announced it is resuming operations to Egypt following Cairo International Airport’s re-opening on 1 July, with two flights per week.

The two flights, using an Airbus A350, will operate every Monday and Thursday, with additional precautionary measures, both pre-flight and onboard, to ensure passenger and flight crew safety.

In a press statement, Air France said that it encourages passengers to contact the competent authorities prior to travelling. This will ensure they receive the latest information on entering and residing in destination or transit countries, as these are likely to have been modified following the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

On another note, the airline announced that Ashraf Habib has been appointed as its new Country Manager for Egypt with effect from 1 July. Habib, who has 35 years experience in the airline industry of which 14 were spent with Air France KLM in Cairo, replaces Frederic Burban in the position.

“We are proud to promote Ashraf to lead our sales in Egypt, and his professionalism, experience, and long career within Air France KLM are well known,” said Matthieu Tetaud, General Manager for Near East. “I am confident that under his leadership, Air France KLM in Egypt will continue to flourish.”
