Al Islami Foods expands into frozen dough market with new paratha

Dubai, UAE – 16 March 2021 - UAE-based Al Islami Foods, one of the largest frozen food companies in the GCC, and the 2020 winner of a global iHalal award for Best Halal Food Brand, has just expanded into the frozen dough market with the launch of a new paratha.

The company debuted the frozen plain paratha in response to the growing demand for convenient, ready-to-cook meals and snacks.

“Al Islami Foods is a leader in the frozen food market, with more than 100 premium quality frozen products. With the launch of the plain paratha, we are expanding our frozen food range and diversifying our portfolio to provide consumers with a wider choice of products from our brand,” said Shahid N. Khan, CEO at Al Islami Foods.

With a soft inner texture and crisp outer flakiness, Al Islami Foods’ frozen parathas are easy to make over the stove and ready to serve in three minutes.

Made with the finest ingredients and trans-fat free, the frozen paratha promises the same quality and freshness that the company’s products are known for. It is also suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

A MARKET WITH DOUBLE-DIGIT GROWTH

The launch of the frozen paratha marks Al Islami Foods’ entry into the fast-growing global frozen dough market, valued at around $18.6 billion in 2020, according to India-based Market Data Forecast.[1]

By 2025, the research firm forecasts the global frozen dough market will reach $27.4 billion, a staggering growth of almost 48 percent.

“The paratha is the biggest category in the frozen dough market, and we are planning to roll out more products in this segment,” said Mr. Khan.

VERSATILE BREAD

One of the most popular flatbreads in the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East, parathas can be relished any time of the day, whether as a breakfast dish, a tea-time snack, or with a main meal.

With its appetizing aroma, the layered flatbread is highly versatile. It goes well with almost everything, including fried egg, stir-fried vegetables, curd, minty yogurt, or simply a cup of tea.

It is also the perfect companion for Indian dishes and condiments such as raita, chutneys, dal, chana masala, paneer masala, and vegetable korma. However, because paratha is sumptuous and tasty, it is often enjoyed as a standalone dish.

Al Islami Foods’ new frozen paratha is now available in hypermarkets and supermarkets across the UAE and the company is looking to export it to other markets in the region.
