Almarai beats Samsung as Saudi Arabia’s best brand in 2015 - YouGov

Almarai, the Gulf's largest dairy company, has been ranked the most positively perceived brand in Saudi Arabia, according to the 2015 BestBrand Rankings from market research company YouGov.

The BestBrand Rankings are compiled using YouGov's daily brand tracker BrandIndex which tracks over 400 brands in Saudi Arabia, and is a daily measure of brand perception among the public in the Kingdom.

BrandIndex's Buzz score is calculated by asking consumers daily if they have 'heard anything positive or negative about a brand in the last two weeks, through advertising, news or word-of-mouth'. It then ranks the top 10 brands with the highest average Buzz scores over the past 12 months.

Almarai climbed five ranks since the end of 2014 to beat Samsung, which was knocked off the top of the rankings for the first time in three years.

According to YouGov, Almarai notably won consumer attention last summer with the launch of its Ramadhan wellness campaign which attracted a record 9 million views on YouTube.

Of the Top 10, six are technology brands, three food brands, and one financial services company.

Only two local brands are ranked in the Top 10 - Almarai and Al Baik. Both are food companies.
