Retail outlets across the United Arab Emirates will offer discounts on 10,000 items during the month of Ramadan, allowing consumers a savings of up to 300 million Emirati dirhams ($81 million), reported local media citing the ministry of economy.
The discounts will be available across 600 hypermarkets, supermarkets and cooperative societies.
The ministry also announced on May 21 fixed prices for around 4,500 essential items to control food inflation and protect consumers against overcharging by retailers during the fasting month.
