FDI in Oman increases 13 per cent to RO15.4bn end-Q2 2020
Published 14 Feb,2021 via Muscat Daily - Total foreign direct investment (FDI) in Oman at the end of the second quarter of 2020 reached RO15.44bn, recording an increase by 13.2 per cent compared to the same period of 2019 when FDI stood at RO13.642bn.
The foreign investment flow in Oman reached RO 1.797bn, according to the data on the preliminary results of the performance of FDI issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The UK ranked first in terms of FDI in Oman at the end of the second quarter of 2020 with RO7.8bn investments, followed by the US with FDI of RO1.818bn and the UAE with investments of RO1.265bn.
The FDI from Kuwait in the sultanate reached RO933.5mn and that of China reached RO848.5mn. The FDI from Bahrain in Oman at the end of the second quarter of 2020 reached RO436.1mn, while Qatari investments in Oman reached RO404.8mn.
The FDI in the financial intermediation sector in Oman till the end of the second quarter of 2020 reached RO1.42bn. The FDI in the real estate sector till the end of the second quarter of 2020 reached RO1.14bn.
