German investors to increase Nigeria’s food production


Published 05 Oct,2021 via The Nation - German investors are mobilising resources to increase Nigeria’s food production figure put at 36.3 billion euro last year.

Nigeria’s food production has grown from 26billion euro in 2016. The figure is expected to rise by 48 percent between this year and 2024, from 42.3billion euro to 62.6 billion euro, according to Euromonitor International.

The Managing Director, Fair Trade, Paul Maerz, said his organisation is encouraging more investors to put in more cash in the food & beverage technology sector which Nigeria is the second largest investor worth 294 million euro in 2019.

It is on this background, his organisation is hosting the agrofood & plastprintpack Exhibition & Conference to showcase various products ranging from agrofood processing & packaging machinery to food ingredients in Lagos.

Maerz noted: “We believe that the agrofood & plastprintpack Exhibition and Conference is essential for the Nigerian trade network. It presents a unique opportunity to meet with suppliers, source new products, network with existing and new business contacts as well as a place to be inspired and learn.”

The three-day event scheduled between October 26 and 28 at the Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos will feature exhibitors from 11 countries including Belgium, Germany, India, Italy, Lebanon, Nigeria, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Turkey, and United States.

The fair looks back on 30 years of experience in organising leading international events for professionals in the agrofood & plastprintpack industry across continents.

Leveraging innovative products and excellent service, fair trade continues to organise professional platforms for valuable business contacts between exhibitors and events attendees.
