JBS to quadruple production with new plant

JBS, a global food giant, will quadruple its production capacity in Saudi Arabia by opening a new plant in Jeddah this November, backed by a $50 million investment.

 

The facility, focusing on chicken nugget production, will create 500 jobs. This expansion follows the recent opening of a processing plant in Dammam and adds to JBS's 30 years of poultry export experience in the region. (Poultry Producer)

Indonesia, Singapore strengthen halal trade ties

Indonesia and Singapore have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on halal product sssurance to boost halal trade between the two nations.

 

The agreement was signed by Muhammad Aqil Irham, head of Indonesia's Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH), and Kadir Maideen, Chief Executive of the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS), in Singapore on Thursday. (Antara News)

 

Malaysia

HYT teams up with HDC to support Malaysia's halal sector

HYT Cross Border Sdn Bhd has partnered with Halal Development Corporation Bhd (HDC) to bolster Malaysia’s halal sector.

 

HYT is a service provider that promotes onboarding of Malaysian brands on e-commerce platforms in China. 

 

The collaboration aims to enhance cross-border offerings and support Malaysian micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the halal industry.

 

Both organizations will expand export awareness programs and readiness capabilities to help MSMEs engage with overseas markets. (NST)

 

Philippines

DTI eyes 'halal-friendly Bicol' to boost tourism, businesses

The Department of Trade and Industry in Bicol (DTI-5) is urging more micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to develop and promote halal products to attract tourists, especially from Muslim countries.

 

At the launch of the "Halal-Friendly Bicol Region" initiative, DTI-5 regional director Dindo Nabol announced plans for a series of training and promotional activities aimed at helping at least 20 MSME owners in the region's six provinces to tap into the halal industry. (PNA Gov)

Countdown to 4th International Halal Seminar begins 

The Halal Certification Authority (HCA) is organizing a seminar to bring together stakeholders in the halal industry, both domestically and internationally, to discuss emerging issues.

 

At a press conference, HCA chairman Ibrahim Oreagba emphasized that the seminar represents a significant milestone in HCA’s efforts to enhance global understanding and implementation of halal standards across various industries. (Halal Focus)
