How much does the Islamic Economy contribute to Dubai’s GDP?

The Islamic Economy made up 8.3 percent of Dubai's GDP in 2016, according to latest figures released last month by the Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre (DIEDC) and the Dubai Statistics Center. 

The total value of the Islamic Economy's contribution in 2016 was 32.77 billion dirhams out of the total 395.84 billion dirhams in GDP.

The domestic trade of food, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics accounted for the largest portion - 55.4 percent.

The second biggest sector was financial activities, which made up 26.3 percent, followed by manufacturing at 18.3 percent.
