Huge potential of India halal food market is largely untapped


Indian Muslim consumers spent $34 billion on food and beverage in 2014; this represents the core universe of the Indian domestic halal food market. However, des pite a sizeable potential market for halal food products, lack of clear labelling and halal food regulation is limiting Muslim consumer spend on halal products.
