I-FIKR launches innovative and easy-to-use Islamic economics and finance knowledge app

KUALA LUMPUR – March 3, 2021 – The I-FIKR App offers a new way for the Islamic economics and finance ecosystem to engage with knowledge-related and educational content.

It is developed and supported by the International Shari'ah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA) and ISRA International Consulting Sdn. Bhd. (ISRA Consulting).

The app, available on both Google Play and App Store,  enables users to benefit from numerous educational publications and resources while allowing users to contribute and engage on the platform. The endless feed provides for constant industry updates from users and high-level connectivity among users.

The uniqueness of the app is that it is the first to merge comprehensive information related to Islamic economics and finance with social engagement.

Its intuitive user interface and rich content make the app convenient and offer great user experience.

Another great feature, which could be the first on a mobile app, is the “Ask Shari’ah” function that allows users to search Shari’ah-related matters and get results from our glossary, fatwas excerpts, and fiqh (muamalat) contents, which are constantly growing.

Users are also provided with a dedicated community section where they can post questions to the audience or answer questions based on their knowledge or expertise.

Since its launch by the Assistant Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), Mr. Adnan Zaylani bin Mohamad Zahid, during the 3rd Islamic Fintech Dialogue (IFD2020) on December 1st, 2020, the app has achieved a high number of downloads amongst users from various segments with an average rating of 4.8 on the App Store.

The app is free and offers a monthly and yearly subscription for access to selected content.

This is the first phase of the app’s release and there will be further improvement and development. Among the areas for future development on the app are Shari’ah robo-advisor, online courses, in-app messaging, and more.

I-FIKR is open to partnership with other institutions and entities; therefore, we are very pleased to announce Salaam Gateway as the official Media Partner for the app. Salaam Gateway is the leading source of information on Halal Industries, Islamic Finance & Islamic Lifestyle. The app users will now be able to get up-to-date global industry news directly from a leading and reputable source in the app feed.
