Islamic finance assets to hit $10.5tn by 2030
Global Islamic finance assets are expected to cross $10.5 trillion by 2030, amid supporting regulatory reforms and a growing demand for Sharia-compliant digital and sustainable financial solutions, a new study has said.
The Islamic finance industry is expected to be supported by “continued expansion in Islamic banking, increasing sukuk issuance and stronger adoption of Islamic finance in emerging markets”, the 2026 edition of the Islamic Finance Development Report revealed.
The industry has continued to record sustained momentum in recent years, with total assets increasing 9% year on year to reach $6.5 trillion in 2025. Islamic banking remained the dominant component, accounting for $4.6 trillion or 71% of global Islamic finance assets, followed by sukuk with 18% and Islamic funds with 6%. The remaining share was split between the other Islamic financial institutions (OIFI) and takaful sectors.
