Malaysia's Jakim to develop international halal executive module
The Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) is developing an international halal executive module to produce more professionals within the halal space.
Dr. Mohd Na’im Mokhtar, minister in the Prime Minister’s department (religious affairs), said that through the renewed module, Malaysia would be in a position to export more professionals working the halal field to other countries.
Jakim is a federal agency, tasked with handling the country's Islamic affairs, including its halal certification.
Hakimah Mohd Yusoff, Jakim’s director-general added that the initiative would enhance halal certification processes in other countries.
“The current module is only a cooperation with the local Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) with factories in other countries,” she added.
