The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in the Davao region has inaugurated a new research and innovation Center for Halal Science (RICHeS), at and in partnership with, the Philippine Women’s College (PWC) of Davao.

This initiative aims to bolster the halal industry in the Philippines by promoting research, innovative programs, and capacity-building activities.

The establishment of the center was made possible through the DOST Halal Research Ecosystem for Development and Innovation Program.

"This event signifies the unyielding commitment of DOST and PWC to drive the Halal ecosystem forward. As we inaugurate this center and embark on a transformative journey, it is essential to recognize that our collective efforts can shape the future of the Halal industry and serve as a model of excellence for the global community," noted Professor Vicente Antonio Pijano III, chancellor, and chief operating officer of PWC.
