Saudi Airlines Catering starts providing F&B to Haramain High Speed Railway
Saudi Airlines Catering Company has started a contract to provide food and beverage services to Haramain High Speed Railway Carriages and Cafeteria.
SACC said in a filing with Tadawul, the Saudi stock exchange, on Tuesday that the provisional value of the five-year contract is estimated to be 85 million Saudi riyals ($22.7 million).
The company expects a positive contribution to be shown in the third quarter of 2019.
SACC provides catering services in-flight, as well as for airport lounges, and companies supporting haj and umrah pilgrims in Mecca and Medina.
Haramain High Speed Railway manages the 450-kilometre electric-rail network connecting Mecca and Medina through Jeddah and King Abdullah Economic City. The first trains started running in October 2018.
The service was constructed primarily to carry haj and umrah pilgrims to relieve road congestion, cutting the journey between Mecca and Medina by half, down to around three hours.
