Saudi Arabia launches international digital wallet for pilgrims
Saudi Arabia has introduced an international digital wallet to serve Umrah and Hajj pilgrims better.
The Nusuk Wallet was launched by the kingdom's ministry of Hajj and Umrah, in cooperation with Saudi National Bank (SNB AlAhli).
The digital wallet ensures that pilgrims effectively manage their funds and expenses, backed by the lender's infrastructure through its brand NEO.
It is the first digital wallet and international bank card which allows Hajj pilgrims and Umrah performers to manage their money during the period of their stay for performing rituals, state-run Saudi Press Agency reported, quoting Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Maiman, digital experience director at the hajj ministry as saying.
"Following this move, we have become closer to achieving our goal of developing a super-app that meets pilgrim’s needs,” added Al-Maiman.
Dr. Saleh bin Ibrahim Al-Furaih, CEO of SNB AlAhli’s digital ventures and payments, added that the Nusuk Wallet is compatible with the instructions of the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).
