Saudi food delivery Jahez raises $36 mln in Series A funding
Food delivery platform Jahez has raised $36 million in a Series A round led by Saudi-focused assets management and advisory Impact46.
In a media statement on June 3, Jahez said the funding round involves primary and secondary shares all funded by private investors.
The company said it will use the fresh funds to support further tech development, new products and services, and solidify its position in Saudi Arabia.
The start-up says it is “on its way to exceeding a billion riyal of orders” in value in 2020, sourced from over 12,000 points of sales across Saudi Arabia.
CEO and co-founder Ghassab Al-Mandill said that in the current climate of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jahez helps restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies and other retailers get access to a new digital channel to generate revenue.
Jahez currently serves 3 million users through its partners fleet of 15,000 freelance couriers and plans to expand into cloud kitchens, groceries, and non-food e-commerce services.
The food delivery platform has a full logistics solution that automates inbound order flows through a single point and provides last-mile delivery.
It was established in 2016 and now has a team of 180 people, according to the statement.
