The Global Muslim Workation launches the Labs Programme to support start-ups in the Islamic Economy

The Global Muslim Workation (GMW), powered by LaunchGood, have launched a competition to invite six founders from across the world to their workation event in Istanbul this August. The GMW Labs programme, funded by a $30,000 LaunchGood powered campaign, aims to provide financial support to brilliant startups to develop and fast-track their ideas.
Applicants simply apply by posting a video showcasing their idea with the opportunity to be hosted with return flights, accommodation and access to the GMW. At the event, they will meet experienced CEO’s from companies like Muzz, Gould Studio and Dinar Standard and learn from a series of hosted seminars and workshops over the two-week workation.
“This is one of our visions for the Global Muslim Workation, to break down barriers to entry for bootstrap startups that can have a significant impact on the world” said GMW Director, Nabeel Shariff.
“There are so many brilliant ideas out there, but they often get overlooked because of a lack of mentorship, investment or opportunities to grow. With so many experienced entrepreneurs at the GMW, we want to use the workation to support the next generation of growth in the Islamic Economy” he added.
The judging panel is made up of Nabeel Shariff, Chris Blauvelt (founder CEO of LaunchGood) and Shabana Osmani (Risk Management Specialist and Diversity Champion). There is no limit to what applicants can submit, from commercial products, philanthropic solutions to addressing social issues we face every day.
Information on how to apply can be found at www.muslimworkation.com/labs and entries close on the 10th July at 11pm EST.
