UAE opens land borders for travel from Oman


Published 31 Aug,2021 via Muscat Daily - People from Oman can travel to UAE through land border from September 1, the General Authority for Security of Ports, Borders and Free Zones, and the National Authority for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management in the UAE has stated.

The travellers have to follow a few protocols for arriving through land ports, including presenting a negative PCR laboratory test result valid for 48 hours, in addition to conducting a rapid PCR nasal swab examination from the vehicle upon arrival at the port.

Travellers must also undergo a PCR test on the fourth day of entry in the case of a stay of four consecutive days or more, in addition to a PCR examination on the eighth day of entry in the event of a stay of eight consecutive days or more. The two authorities stressed the importance of the commitment of arrivals to apply all preventive and precautionary measures, such as wearing masks, maintaining physical distance and sterilising luggage, and it is also advised to avoid travel for those with chronic diseases or those who feel symptoms of COVID-19.

Oman will open its land borders from September 1. To enter the sultanate via land crossings, people will need to be vaccinated and will be required to have a pre-departure PCR tests too.
