UAE’s HolidayMe merging with Malaysia’s Tripfez, raises $16 mln Series C funding
Online travel portal HolidayMe is merging with Tripfez, the Malaysia-based Muslim-friendly online travel site, the Dubai-based company announced today.
HolidayMe also said in a tweet that it raised $16 million in a funding round led by Shanghai and Kuala Lumpur-based venture capital firm Gobi Partners. This Series C round takes HolidayMe’s total funding received to $39 million, according to start-up database platform Crunchbase.

HolidayMe was set up in 2013. It offers over 300,000 hotels and over 8,000 activities, according to its website.
Tripfez launched in 2015 and focuses on the Muslim-friendly travel market. It incorporates Salam Standard, the halal hospitality rating system. It has reviewed and rated over 55,000 hotels on their Muslim-friendliness facilities, says its website.
Tripfez is also part of Gobi Partners’ portfolio after it raised $750,000 in seed investment in May 2016 in a round led by the Shanghai-based VC.
