UK-based Firnas Airways is aiming to take off on its maiden flight by the end of 2017 following delays to its launch, the company's founder Kazi Shafiqur Rahman said in a video posted on his Facebook page on Jun 10.
According to Rahman, Firnas is currently going through the regulatory phase to launch the airline.
The company has opened an equity crowdfunding campaign on Eureeca, which has not gone live.
Salaam Gateway reported in November that Firnas was targeting its maiden flight for mid-2017 and that it was seeking capital in the range of $50 to $90 million.
The company has said it will be a Shariah-compliant airline utilising Islamic finance, serving only halal food and no alcohol, and provide prayer facilities on board.
